2020 Summer Kids Coding BootCamps
Python Coding for Kids (Level 1) | 3-week schedule
Start: August 3, 2020 (Monday)
This camp is designed for kids aging 10+. Python is the most popular language for Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is a very good coding language after scratch learning. Python is named after the popular British comedy series Monty Python's Flying Circus. It is a text-based programming language. It is extremely versatile and can be used to make different types of programs, such as apps, games, and websites. As a general-purpose programming language, Python has various applications in the fields of business, medicine, science, and media.
Time: Aug. 3 to Aug. 21 (3 weeks)
Dr. Zhang will meet with students from 10:00 to 10:45 am (Central Time) on Aug. 3 to introduce the camp.
The regular schedule for each week:
Aug. 3 (Monday): Watch class video series 1. Project 1 will be assigned.
Aug. 4 (Tuesday): Students work on Project 1.
Aug. 5 (Wednesday): Live class: answer students' questions, and help with projects. (Central Time 10:00 ~ 10:30 am)
Aug. 5 (Wednesday): Watch class video series 2. Project 2 will be assigned.
Aug. 6 (Thursday): Students work on Project 2.
Aug. 7 (Friday): Live class: answer students' questions, and help with projects. (Central Time 10:00 ~ 10:45 am)
The same process will be repeated for the weeks Aug. 10~14, and Aug. 17~21.
So totally, students will:
Meet with Dr. Zhang 7 times online;
Watch 6 video series in three weeks;
Solve 6 coding problems + 1 final projects;
Kids can always ask questions online and schedule live meeting to ask questions (with parents' permission);
